Volunteers make the Gift of Life and Breath possible by staffing key positions on the day of the race.
A team of responsive and attentive individuals will serve as the face of the race to every runner. Registration volunteers greet participants, provide information on the day’s activities, and give runners their bib and timing chip. This fast-paced position provides an excellent opportunity to interact with many people and help ensure each runner is ready to take their place by 9:00 am.
Each course marshal is assigned a location along the race course with the responsibility to help guide and encourage runners as they pass by. Course marshals keep an eye on the race and inform the race manager of any issues as they arise.
A number of volunteers dedicate the morning to making sure the experience is enjoyable for everyone present. Race guides greet and direct participants as they arrive. Food volunteers prepare the food and gift bags available to all participants at the end of the race.
Two water stations are located along the race course and volunteers stationed here provide runners with water quickly and with enthusiasm. It is an invaluable position for the runners and a great way to directly feel the excitement of the race as a volunteer.
